  • Neil Ellis - wonderful wines at excellent prices, a 5 minute drive from STIAS or a 39 minute walk. 
  • Tokara - One of the most beautiful wine estates in the area, with a gorgeous tasting room, excellent wines and a top rated restaurant. A 1.5 hour walk or 7 minute drive from STIAS
  • Delaire Graaff - opposite Tokara, good (though expensive) wines, wonderful art collection, Tretchikoff artwork
  • Warwick Wine Estate - 16 minute drive, or 3 hour walk. Top rated wines.
  • Stark-Conde Wine Estate - a lovely restaurant/cafe, beautiful grounds and gardens, and a stunning tasting room on a lake. Wines are good, though not as good as previous vintages. 8 minute drive, or 1 hour walk (worth the walk, under the mountain. Also possible to rent bicycles and cycle there)
  • Rustenberg Wine Estate - Cape Dutch charm, extensive gardens, and top quality wines at good prices. 1 hour walk or 11 minute drive from STIAS. 
  • Hidden Valley Wines - short drive, has one upmarket restaurant and a deck where one can get pizza and burgers
